Seems like every week, there is a new drama bomb in the horror community. I generally stay out of them. There are few things I despise more than internet bickering. This week’s was … fucky. Sad. Frustrating. But I try to be positive about shit. So, on the bright side of things … if you step back and look at the big picture, there have been some very positive changes over the last few decades or so. Things are not perfect. But we’ve come a long way. On the other hand, we’re sliding backwards as instead of having discussions, these topics immediately devolve into spats.
What the fuck, people. Isn’t the whole point of reading to experience someone else’s POV? Isn’t the whole point of an antho to collect stories that all approach things from different angles?
I would be pissed to find out I got into something because I am female. I would also be pissed to find out I didn’t get into something because I am female.
The common denominator, imho, is we should all strive to be better. Better writers, and better people.
That’s all. Going into social media blackout for a while. I’ll reply to messages, but otherwise, Imma be over here writing, and saving cute animal pictures on Pinterest. Facebook has become toxic.
